Discover Rebound Therapy →Hello, I’m Erin, and I’m the person behind Inner Power Therapies.
I believe every child deserves to feel safe, accepted and understood. My aim is to offer a warm, nurturing space where children can explore their feelings, express themselves and build confidence in ways that feel right for them.
I offer play therapy and a range of therapeutic support, including SandStory Therapy and Rebound Therapy. Each child is an individual, so I take care to consider their own strengths, needs and circumstances when thinking about the most suitable approach.
I also value working in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals, so that support can be thoughtful and joined up around the child.
A range of therapeutic approaches for children aged 4–14. Each approach is considered in relation to the individual child and their needs.
Play can help children explore feelings and experiences, and develop coping and communication skills.

A safe, nurturing and respectful environment where children feel listened to, valued and supported.
At Inner Power Therapies, the safety, welfare and emotional wellbeing of every child are at the heart of my practice. I recognise that every child has the right to feel safe, protected and heard.
I aim to promote children's safety and wellbeing, listen to their feelings and concerns, respect their individuality and rights, maintain appropriate professional boundaries, provide safe therapeutic environments and follow my safeguarding and child protection policy.
Erin Rebecca Cavanagh is the Safeguarding Lead for Inner Power Therapies. I maintain safeguarding training relevant to my professional responsibilities and receive clinical supervision to support safe, reflective and ethical practice.
Where sessions take place in a school, I work in partnership with the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). I follow the school's safeguarding procedures alongside my own professional responsibilities and share relevant concerns with the appropriate safeguarding lead.
For independent private sessions, I take responsibility for responding to safeguarding concerns. Where necessary, I will contact the relevant Local Authority Children's Social Care team to seek advice, make a referral or report a concern. Where a child may be at immediate risk of harm, appropriate urgent action will be taken, including contacting the police or emergency services where necessary.
Confidentiality is important to the therapeutic relationship, but I cannot promise absolute confidentiality where information suggests that a child may be at risk of harm. Relevant information may need to be shared with appropriate professionals or safeguarding agencies to help protect the child. Wherever appropriate and safe, this will be discussed with parents or carers.
I am registered with the Professional Standards Authority (PSA)-accredited Play Therapy UK (PTUK) Register. I work in accordance with the PTUK Ethical Framework, receive clinical supervision and follow PTUK procedures for managing complaints, concerns and allegations relating to professional conduct.
